Exploring cafes is the norm

Risotto with Prawn and Pumpkin, featuring Moroccan-seasoned prawns nestled in creamy pumpkin risotto, accompanied by tender clams, earthy shimeji mushrooms, crisp sage and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese. The melding of flavours – pumpkin with the seafood-y essence of prawn and clam – was surprisingly delightful, a natural sweetness with a savoury edge. This is our must-order every time we visit this cafe.

Whenever we’re back in Penang, we love exploring different cafes and Norm Micro Roastery is always in our list of our go-to cafes.

Its distinctive minimalist design and industrial-style decor, combined with a spacious layout that includes pebbles and mature trees, creates a modern and welcoming environment.

The extra-high ceiling, smooth concrete floor and skylight that lets in natural light to illuminate the interior, makes the cafe a charming location for social media enthusiasts seeking that perfect shot.

The menu offers a good selection of dishes such as pastas, risottos, waffles and their signature tiramisu is popular too.

Additionally, they serve a variety of coffees, sourced from their in-house roastery and other handcrafted drinks.
