They have gained popularity worldwide, with the shish kebab being one of the most renowned. Traditionally meaning “skewered burnt meat” in Aramaic, shish kebab often features minced meat, though cubed or sliced options are common today.

Brown vermicelli in the wilted onion mixture before adding rinsed basmati rice to absorb the flavourful oil.
Transfer rice and vermicelli mixture into an electric rice cooker with salt and cold water.
Add chicken into the blended onion, garlic, coriander and spices mix to make a smooth kebab mash.
With a well-greased hand, wrap a fistful of meat mash around a bamboo skewer.
Once brushed with olive oil, oven roast the kebabs.
After roasting the kebabs for 10 minutes, flip over and roast another 5 to 10 minutes until nicely charred.
