Swedish chef brings Scandinavian creations to KL

Isaksson will be at the Mandarin Grill from Feb 26 to March 3.

MANDARIN Oriental, Kuala Lumpur is presenting a tale of gastronomy through its collaboration with Swedish chef Sayan Isaksson.

Themed “Simply Scandinavian”, Isaksson will be showcasing the flavours of the region.

Voted as the number one chef in Sweden, Isaksson’s style emphasises the fusion of culinary influences to create unique experiences, with a focus on Japanese traditions blended with modern Scandinavian cuisine.

“My goals have always been the same throughout my career: to create a contemporary gastronomic experience that is both local and global and in tune with nature,” said the head chef of Nour, a Michelin-starred restaurant in Sweden.

“This allows me to create out-of-this-world flavours and something truly unique.

“I am excited to be back and to have the opportunity to create an even greater impact than I did six years ago.”

The hotel’s Mandarin Grill restaurant previously hosted Isaksson during the 30th anniversary of a global event also titled “Simply Scandinavian”, a musical and gastronomic celebration of Scandinavian cuisine.

Isaksson will be at Mandarin Grill from Feb 26 to March 3.

The lunch set menus begin at RM158+ for two courses and RM198+ for three.

Dinner option is a full degustation menu for five courses (RM368+) or eight (RM398+).

Dinner courses also come with wine pairings, starting at RM158+.
