A BOWL of hot and flavourful soup is nutritious and ideal for rehydration when breaking fast.

During Ramadan, a wide range of soups including sup gearbox, a hearty beef bone marrow broth boiled with onions and numerous fragrant spices, is featured at the buffet at Kwee Zeen in Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Damansara.

A slice of warm roti benggali goes well with the sup gearbox that has the texture of a creamy stew.

At the Destinasi Rasa Serantau buffet, diners can recharge on delectable foods as they enjoy live gamelan music.

The highlights of the buffet include seven signature dishes from the various states of Malaysia.

They are Tempoyak Patin Sangkar from Pahang, Daging Wagyu Salai Masak Lemak Cili Padi from Negri Sembilan, Laksam Lemak Pasir Mas from Kelantan, Kambing Panggang Perap Basah from Selangor, Asam Pedas Telur Ikan from Melaka, Rendang Daging Rusa Tok Batu Kikir from Perak, and Osso Buco Red Curry from Johor.

We enjoyed the wagyu in the rich, subtly creamy and spicy gravy of the Masak Lemak Cili Padi.

Diners can also opt to have the version with huge tiger prawns.

Other notable dishes were the Chicken Roulade Stuffed with Spinach Boursin Cheese, Grilled Pumpkin Polenta and Swedish Beef Meatballs with Lingonberry Sauce.

At the buffet, there is also a salad bar featuring premium produce harvested at the peak of their nutritional value, taste and freshness. Plus, the plants have been sustainably grown less than 30km away.

The buffet dinner is available until April 21, from 6.30pm to 10pm.
