Revamped cafe makes a comeback with barbecue buffet dinners

The buffet dinner features an array of seafood that includes oysters.

THERE’S an unassuming cafe that was once the go-to place for high-tea gatherings and dinner dates in Jalan Kelang Lama, Kuala Lumpur.

Cafe 5 of Pearl International Hotel was also one of the preferred spots for civil servants to enjoy tea and cakes after a long day of meetings.

The cafe, which was given a major makeover, officially reopened on April 6 with a brand-new look and name.

It’s now called Melo Cafe & Deli and exudes a modern look with a contemporary design emphasising minimalistic elements.

Using black and greys with marble-like designs for the tables and interiors, the place has the occasional pop of colour from its plush chairs.

With a seating capacity of 194, the new dining spot is currently running a “King of Grill BBQ” buffet dinner on Fridays and Saturdays.

Seafood lovers will definitely want to give this place a try as there is a wide variety of harvests from the ocean, from oysters, prawns, crabs and mussels to grilled fish cooked in a variety of ways.

Apart from seafood, there is also a good selection of meats and vegetables in local and western cuisines to choose from.

The buffet is available on Fridays and Saturdays, from 6.30pm to 10pm, priced at RM118 (adult) and RM58 (child).

For reservations, call 03-7983 1111 or 016 331 9375.
