More adult children are relieving their mothers of their kitchen duties

Rumaizon says she can always rely on her three children to cook the daily meals if she is too tired to do so. (From left) Ariff Aidi, Rumaizon, Ariff Adam and Aida Assilah. — RUMAIZON ABDUL MALIK

IN the past, household duties were traditionally a very matriarchal domain. While times have (thankfully) evolved and both men and women do household chores these days, in many families, mothers often still take the lead in the kitchen.
