G HOTEL Gurney in Penang brings a five-star feel to Chinese New Year reunions and gatherings with its exquisite 8-Course Chinese Set Dinner menus.

With delicious dishes made from the finest ingredients complemented by stylish table setups and impeccable service, your feasts are bound to be memorable.

Round up loved ones for the Auspicious Chinese New Year Reunion Dinner happening at the Grand Ballroom on Jan 24, the eve of the celebration.

Choose from the Happiness Package at RM1,688, the Prosperity Package at RM1,888 or the Longevity Package at RM2,088 per table of 10 pax — all opening with Fresh Salmon Yee Sang.

Be thrilled by classic and modern combination of flavours lined up by banquet chef Ooi Kok Kang and his team.

Menus vary across packages, but those choosing Prosperity will next enjoy Double-boiled Dried Scallop, Mini Abalone and Fish Maw Soup, served in individual bowls.

The Braised Duck with Dried Oyster and Sea Moss after that is richly smooth, while the Stuffed Sea Cucumber and Portobello with Broccoli is a textural treat.

Sauteed Fresh Scallop and Macadamia Nuts in XO Sauce continues in the same vein, with the luscious morsels imported from Japan contrasting the crunchy nuts.

Fish is a must-have this season as it symbolises surplus and fortune, and in this set, it takes the form of Hong Kong-style Steamed Pearl Garoupa.

The Braised Ee Fu Noodles with Fresh Water Prawns offers an abundance of another festive favourite, with the Double-boiled Fragrant Pear with Snow Fungus and Chinese Pancake then completing the indulgence.

The God of Prosperity will also make an appearance to guests at night. A live band provides entertainment alongside lucky draws.

The Reunion Dinner is only a single session with no turnaround, meaning guests can take their time to indulge.

There is also free corkage.

All three packages — Happiness, Prosperity and Longevity — are also available for private banquets from Jan 15 right up Feb 29.

All packages include free-flow of Chinese tea. Advance reservations are required. Email to shirley.au@ghotel.com.my or call 04-2380000.

The Salmon Yee Sang, suitable for up to 10 pax, is also available for dine-in or takeaways at RM130 from Jan 15 to Feb 29.
