Culinary inspirations: Embraced by the Lim family

My husband, Shafee Yahaya, had a Chinese mother. She was named Rafeah as she was adopted as a baby into a Malay family. We did not know much about her biological roots and Rafeah had passed away when Shafee was six, so any little knowledge I had about her was from Shafee’s early childhood memories.

However, Shafee’s aunt, Mak Su Tipah, had shared with me that Rafeah’s biological father ran a popular coffee shop at Tanjung Berembang in Seberang Perai Selatan.
