Experienced chefs create a variety of auspicious CNY menus

Restaurants are hopping into the Year of the Rabbit with zest by offering auspicious dishes.

At Oversea Restaurant, its seasonal signature Chinese New Year dishes such as yee sang, Waxed Meat Rice, Prosperity Treasure Pot, Dried Meat and an assortment of confectioneries put together by a group of 40 chefs are bound to bring plenty of huat (prosperity) and abundance to diners.

The Oversea yee sang is priced from RM78++ and this year, there are five different types on the festive menu.

The original Oversea Fabulous Fruity Yee Sang is served with Red Dragon Fruit Sauce for extra ong (luck) while other yee sang options are Yee Sang with Jellyfish and Korean Snow Pear, Yee Sang with Fresh Salmon and Korean Snow Pear, Yee Sang with Abalone and Korean Snow Pear and Yee Sang with Abalone and Black Truffle.

The yee sang is available in half or full portions.

The Hong Kong-Style Waxed Meat Claypot Rice is truly a scrumptious one-pot meal delicately balancing flavourful notes with a distinctive aroma from fragranced glutinous rice and cured meat for a mouth-watering experience.

This Chinese New Year indulgence is priced at RM138++ (six pax) to RM168++ (10 pax).

As all good things in life are meant to be shared, the Prosperity Treasure Pot is perfect for the occasion.

Gather your loved ones to enjoy the layers of aromatic broth brimming with 15 hearty ingredients to warm your tummy.

The Prosperity Treasure Pot is available for six to eight diners at RM838++ while the larger serving for eight to 10 people is priced at RM1,188++.

This dish can be savoured at home too.

The ingredients are arranged in a claypot and ready for takeaway and reheating.

A complimentary limited edition red insulated bag as an auspicious keepsake is provided alongside the takeaway order.

There will be at least three set meals inclusive of eight to nine courses at Oversea restaurants.

Starting at RM898++ (six diners) to RM3,388++ (group of 10), the menus are put together by a group of executive chefs with more than 40 years of experience in dishing up auspicious meals.

All set menus are available from Chinese New Year until the last day of February and each set meal comes with a box of Oversea’s Hong Kong Style Egg Rolls while stocks last.

Dried meat, a Fujian snack which has been adapted over the years to suit the local palate, is sold at RM78 per box.
