A MALAYSIAN-Italian chef with years of international cooking experience is set to tantalise guests with his culinary masterpieces.
Alessandro Piso has been recently appointed as chef de cuisine at Nizza restaurant, Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Damansara.
With a passion for French, Italian and Japanese cuisines, he has 11 years of culinary experience under his belt.
He has worked for international hotel brands and Michelin-star restaurants in Singapore and Italy.
Guests can expect unique contemporary touches that elevate familiar flavours to exciting new interpretations, through the infusion of flavours from different cultures.
While overseas, Piso had the privilege to assist Danish chef Nikolaj Lenz with a five-course menu and dishes using Danish cuisine with Asian twists.
He also worked with Italian Michelin chef Daniele Repetti during the third edition of “Italian Cuisine Week in the World” held in Malaysia.
In the event organised by the Italian Embassy and the Italian Trade Agency, Piso demonstrated how to prepare traditional dishes using local ingredients such as durian.
He also has an interest in studying about vegetarian cuisine, fish products and ageing food.
He is fluent in Italian, English and Bahasa Malaysia, with basic understanding of Spanish and Tamil.
