The Putrajaya Marriott Hotel Ramadan spread offers a wide selection of dishes, including traditional delights and seafood favourites.
IF YOU are looking for a gastronomical affair, you do not have to travel far.
An amazing Ramadan spread is available at Putrajaya Marriott Hotel this year.
Nestled amid beautiful green surroundings, the hotel’s Zest Lifestyle restaurant is ready to usher in guests with several food stations serving up a wide selection, making it an enjoyable dining experience.
More than 100 traditional dishes are on the menu.
The theme of the Ramadan spread is “Pentas Citarasa”, which translates to “Stage of Tastes” in English.
Among the stations were seven Kawah Waklan, coined after the restaurant’s executive sous chef Zulkifli Asyul Saidi’s nickname, which is Waklan.
The Kawah dishes consist of Gulai Lemak Cili Padi and Gulai Daging, which pair perfectly with white rice and aromatic flavoured rice. The dishes also go well with the ulam spread and sambal belacan.
There is an Italian corner, which features pasta with the chef’s signature sauce as well as chicken and beef lasagna.
If you love seafood, then it is a must to drop by the Seafood on Ice counter with a bounty of prawns, oysters and scallops.
Middle Eastern food is another favourite. Here, guests are spoilt for choice with whole roasted lamb served with warm bread, fresh salad as well as a variety of dips and spreads.
The Thai food corner serves dishes such as Thai Curried Fish, also known as hor mok, and marinated chicken wrapped in pandan leaf known as gai hor bao toey.
The Medan Ikan Bakar corner is a treat, as most seafood used for food preparation is from Sabah. Prawns, squid, flower crab and stingray are marinated with a barbecue sauce prior to cooking.
For some Indian flavour, head to the Little India food station and savour tandoori chicken and naan bread made using a hot clay tandoor oven.
Besides that, staple Indian food such as tosai, idli and vadai are freshly prepared.
Guests are also treated to a live gamelan music performance during the buffet.
The buffet is available until May 2, from 6.30pm to 10pm.
It is priced at RM188nett per adult and RM94nett per child.
