Sophisticated take on Chinese classics at hotel’s restaurant


IF you are used to dining in elegant hotel-based Chinese restaurants, you will feel right at home in Zuan Yuan Chinese Restaurant in One World Hotel, Petaling Jaya.

Executive Chinese chef Tommy Choong Chan Hoo does a sophisticated take on treasured Chinese classics, providing an outstanding dining experience for every customer.

Five special dishes will be featured, in addition to the regular a la carte menu until March 31.

The Deep-Fried Toast with Diced Roasted Duck Meat, Prawn Paste and Coriander (RM28 nett), Steamed Assorted Vegetables with Organic Tomato and Pumpkin Puree (RM28 nett) and Crispy Mango Prawn Roll with Wasabi Mayonnaise Dressing (RM28 nett) are sure to win the hearts and bellies of any gourmand.

The Steamed Live Mud Crab with Canadian Wild Rice in Bamboo Basket (RM120 nett) and Braised Sea Cucumber with Chicken Meat and Garden Greens (RM300 nett, with a one-day advance order) deserve special mention too.

A meal would not be complete without the crowd favourite dessert — a refreshing bowl of Chilled Lemon Grass Jelly with Aloe Vera.

Other must-try desserts include Chilled Hawthorn and Red Plum with Pear and Durian Spring Roll, and Pancake and Ice Cream Combination.

Zuan Yuan Chinese Restaurant is open daily for lunch (noon to 2.30pm) and dinner (6pm to 10.30pm).

If you fancy a gourmet set meal that will not dent your wallet, then book a table at the hotel’s Cinnamon Coffee House.

Executive sous chef Saiful Baharin and team are excited to debut the restaurant’s new set menus centred on distinct flavours.

The set meal starts with your choice of a hearty soup like Vegetable Potpourri, Sup Ekor, Sup Ayam Berempah or Chicken Chowder.

This is followed by tantalising main course options such as Claypot Tenggiri Fish Curry, Chicken Varuval, Daging Goreng Kunyit or Mandy Lamb, accompanied with a selection of rice and sides.

End the meal on a sweet note with either sago gula melaka, creme caramel, mango pudding or sliced fresh fruits.

The set menus are priced at RM60 nett for two and RM110 nett for four.

The promotion is available daily for lunch and dinner.
