Prosperity Poon Choi is among the dishes for the Grand Prosperity Reunion Buffet Dinner at The Light Hotel Penang.

Chinese New Year reunion dinner guests at The Light Hotel Penang will be spoilt for choice.

Tuck into the Grand Prosperity Reunion Buffet Dinner featuring a whopping 208 types of delicacies at the Grand Ballroom from 6.30pm to 10pm on Jan 24.

Priced at RM138+ per adult, the buffet also offers entertainment by a five-piece Chinese orchestra as well as a live band for extra merriment.

“The beauty of our reunion dinner is seeing people from all walks of life enjoying themselves,” enthused hotel general manager K. Raj Kumar.

“They will feel right at home with our festive set-ups of local and international dishes.

“In conjunction with our 5th anniversary, we have upgraded our offerings at no extra cost. Quality is guaranteed as you join The Light Hotel for a memorable reunion,” he said.

Chinese sous chefs H’ng Wee Kiang and Tan Kean Hooi have cooked up a storm of auspicious dishes comprising Fatt Choy Yee Sang and Prosperity Poon Choi.

The buffet will also have a hot pot featuring over 30 items with a choice of clear soup or tomyam.

Indulge tastebuds with the extensive selection of seafood on ice, salads and appetisers, soups, main courses and desserts prepared by a team headed by executive chef Halim Mohamad.

Feast on smoked salmon platter, dim sum, grilled seafood and meat, seafood lasagna, stir-fried black pepper beef, fish varuval, roast lamb leg, chicken rice and longevity noodle soup, among others.

Also do sample the salted egg cereal prawns, kam heong chicken, steamed fish fillet with supreme soy sauce, chicken and potato pie, sweet and sour clams, and chicken biryani.

Round up with sweet indulgences such as ice kacang, mandarin orange cake, Shanghai pancake, traditional Chinese butter cake and banana fortune cookies.

The hotel has also lined up special festive menus for social gatherings and corporate dinners as well as outside catering. The food is halal-certified by Jakim.

For private get-togethers, check out the Blooming Abundance CNY 8-Course Set Dinner that is served at Flavour@3 until end of February and priced from RM1,088+ per table of 10 persons.

There are also the Blossoms of Prosperity CNY Day Buffet Dinner and Treasure of Prosperity CNY Day Buffet High Tea at Spice Brasserie on Jan 25 and 26. The former costs RM108+ per adult and the latter at RM88+ per adult.

A la carte order of yee sang is available from RM108+ (for 10 persons) and poon choi at RM588+ per serving.

With Valentine’s Day also just round the corner, wine and dine your partner with the Lover’s Nest 5-Course Set Dinner (RM488+ per couple) by the poolside or the Love is Sharing Buffet Dinner (RM198+ per couple) at Spice Brasserie.
