Hotel’s Chinese New Year Eve reunion dinner has many traditional favourites to look forward to

KUANTAN: Choices are aplenty when it comes to a family reunion feast for the coming Chinese New Year in welcoming the Year of the Rat.

At Swiss Garden Beach Resort Kuantan, the culinary team, supervised by Chinese chef Law Heng Weng and Dim Sum chef Leong Kok Meng, have prepared an array of Oriental delights.

Food and Beverage service manager K. Ramesh said the reunion dinner was an important family gathering for the Chinese community to get together and look forward to prosperity and good health in the new year.

“With this in mind, our chefs have concocted a variety of dishes to meet the needs and aspirations of guests and walk-in diners.

“They can choose from a combination of traditional cuisine with a modern twist, ” he said.

The New Year Eve Reunion Dinner is available at The Blossom Chinese Restaurant on Jan 24 from 6.30pm onwards.

The menu comprises Salmon Yee Sang to bring prosperity to the family, followed by a three-combination entrée, Mushroom Soup with Fish Bladder, Roasted Peipa Chicken, Japanese Style Prawns, Deep-fried Red Snapper Teochew Style, Stir-fried Hong Kong Kailan, Tau Kan and Fatt Choy, Mini Lotus Leaf Rice and a dessert.

It is priced at RM899 nett per table of 10 persons and RM498 nett per table of five persons.

For the must-have dish – yee sang – four choices are available in medium and large portions.

These are smoked salmon, abalone, soft shell crab and Pacific clam. Prices range from RM56 to RM98.

Throughout the Chinese New Year period, diners can opt for three different menus – Sou Kong, Prosperity and Double Happiness.

All menus comprise a choice of yee sang, two to four combinations of entrée, choice of soup, chicken, prawns, fish, vegetables, Szechuan fried rice and a dessert.

Price starts from RM788 nett to RM1,188 nett for a table of 10 persons.

Other food promotions include a special dim sum selection comprising 13 new items such as Steamed Chicken Dumpling with Black Moss, Oyster Porridge with Baby Abalone, Steamed Red Bun with BBQ Chicken Slice, Deep-fried Special Chicken Roll and Deep-fried Charcoal Yam Dumpling (Swan), starting from RM10.30 per basket.

These dishes are available from Jan 25 to Feb 8.

On Feb 14, there will be a tantalising semi-buffet Valentine’s dinner at The Garden Terrace Coffee House for lovebirds and courting couples to mark the romantic occasion.

Priced at RM200 per couple, it is inclusive of a glass of house wine or fruit punch, a complimentary stalk of red rose and chocolates.
