NASI CAMPUR is undeniably popular among Malaysians, especially for lunch and dinner.
Being able to choose preferred dishes to make the meal a hearty experience is satisfaction that keeps one going throughout the day.
It almost feels like being in the driver’s seat and in control of dishes that make your stomach happy.
Sofie Othman Resources has more than 30 types of dishes with a variety of chicken, meat, fish, vegetable and curries.
The dishes served here are best eaten with white rice.
The stall has a wide selection of Malay dishes including sambal, lemak and even ones with soy sauce.
Owner Safiah Othman, 47, said the business started from humble beginnings in 1996 at the food court.
“In the early days, we did not offer as much variety compared to what we have at the moment.
“We started on a small scale with fewer dishes.
“Over time, we expanded our menu to offer more variety as the number of customers have been increasing.
“These days, we are busy during peak hours and this makes me happy because it means we are doing something right, ” she said.
Safiah said some of the customers’ favourites were asam pedas ikan pari, black pepper chicken, fried squid and kerabu daun selom.
I chose to have the fried chicken, some gravy of the asam pedas ikan pari and vegetables for my meal and only paid RM5.
Finding a meal that has the ability to satisfy one’s hunger pangs at such a price is a deal not to be missed.
The stall opens from 7am to 4pm (Monday to Saturday. It is closed on Sunday.
