KOTA KINABALU: Terminal 2 of Kota Kinabalu International Airport will be shut down as of midnight on Monday.
Budget carrier Air Asia will be relocating its operations to Terminal 1.
MAB chief operating officer Datuk Abd Hamid Mohd Ali however said the first Air Asia flights to use Terminal 1 would be from Sandakan at 8.40pm, Tawau (10.20pm), Hong Kong (11.10pm), Hangzhou (12.40am) and Guangzhou (3.20am).
He said the first Air Asia departures from Terminal 1 would be to Hong Kong at 6.40am, Sandakan (6.40am), Kuala Lumpur and Taipei (7.10am), Kota Bharu (8.20am) and Tawau (8.50am).
Hamid said they expected Air Asia’s move to Terminal 1 to be a smooth one as MAB, the airline and other authorities had been preparing for it since October.
