More of the Brit-Yank divide

IN MY Aug 8 article, I touched on the differences between British English (BrE) and American English (AmE) in respect of words – how the same words are pronounced differently, how the same words are spelt differently, how the same words have different meanings, and how different words may have the same meanings.

The differences do not end there. The list continues with the ways BrE and AmE string words together in sentences and expressions. An extended list of the differences constitutes a virtual BrE-AmE divide.
