DOGS being man’s best friend is an understatement. The dog may be loyalty personified, but the value of the canine goes way beyond that of mere friendship, for the dog is the eye for the blind, assistant to the disabled and defender of the universe (okay, the last one was a bit of a stretch). 

Other than the qualities listed, dogs have screen presence too. Many a filmmaker who couldn’t afford to have Tom Cruise or Arnold Schwarzenegger in their movie have banked on canines to make a fast buck from a summer release.
