The manga connection

MANGA? What’s that? A fruit? No, we’re referring to Japanese comics, which are often overshadowed by their showier little sister, anime.

Productions like Atom Boy (also known as Astro Boy or Tetsuwan Atom) and Black Jack or hits like Ranma ½, Dragon Ball Z, Sailor Moon and Tenchi Muyo! were inspired by manga (pronounced “mang-ga”). So were Bleach, Naruto and One Piece, which were all anime versions of mega-hit manga of the same names.
