IN 1987, English singer-songwriter Rick Astley was only 21 when his debut single as a solo artiste topped music charts in 25 countries. Never Gonna Give You Up penned by the famed songwriting trio Stock Aitken Waterman made Astley – former drummer of a band called FBI – a household name.
