It was one heck of a warm night on July 4 at the Laundry Bar, The Curve in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. Whilst Uncle Sam was celebrating independence day, it was also an auspicious date for two guys and a girl that make up one of our local indie scene’s finest bands. Tempered Mental (TM), as they’ve christened themselves, have finally launched their first album titled The View From Here. Fans and friends of the band started filling up the venue by 9pm to show their utmost support. 

TM has been heating up Kuala Lumpur’s rock circuit with their brand of high octane and skilfully executed music since 2002. Taking form as a power rock trio in the same vein as legendary groups such as Cream and Rush, their ability to sound full with just a minimal number of musicians have impressed many who’ve caught them live in action. The band, which was formed in Kuala Lumpur, consists of Melina William (bass, vocals), Jimmy Tan (drums) and Jack Lian (guitar).
