Renewed spark

There's a lot of expectation surrounding Seven Collar T-Shirt’s boutique all-seater gig at The Actors Studio, Bangsar Shopping Centre in Kuala Lumpur tomorrow. It is the band’s first proper full-length show in over two years, another sign of the patience and determination needed to step ahead for this outfit that operates outside of the major-label system.

Patience, most prominently, has played a big part in this band’s evolution. Hailing from the late 1990s home-grown alternative rock scene, Seven Collar T-Shirt (SCTS) didn’t cut a debut album until 2002 (Freeway, Dreaming & Broke) and the follow-up two years later (Drones) has been a slow-burner that has steadily amassed a cult following with nearly 5,000 copies sold.
