British rock trio Doves is planning to hit the studio in February to begin recording its fourth studio album, which it hopes to release in the summer or early fall via Capitol. The group recently returned from a songwriting session in Derbyshire situated next to a llama farm. “It’s done us a lot of good, creatively that is,” reads a post on the band’s blog. “This record has required a little more writing and work to find a direction, something that feels new to us. That’s just the way it is sometimes, but ... we’re getting there now.” The as-yet-untitled album is the follow-up to 2005’s Some Cities, which debuted at No.1 on the British album chart. The single Black and White Town reached No.6 on the British singles tally.
