RHINO has rounded up the top names in Goth rock for the four-disc boxed set A Life Less Lived: The Gothic Box, due Sept 19. Despite loathing the titular term that came to describe their music, bands like Joy Division, the Cure, Bauhaus and the Jesus & Mary Chain transcended labelling to revolutionise rock in the late 1970s and early 1980s.  

Key tracks from those bands are featured on A Life Less Lived, including opener Dead Souls by Joy Division and Bauhaus’s She’s in Parties.
