Singers from Asia will be coming together in September for the fifth Global Chinese Music Awards. THAM AI MEI was in Hong Kong recently to find out the fourth-quarter results. 

There was a time when Chinese music was divided. Cantonese music was usually a separate genre from Mandarin music, or Hong Kong tunes were viewed as a separate category altogether from Taiwanese or mainland Chinese songs. The Malaysian and Singaporean Chinese scenes were even further removed from the rest of the Chinese music industries.
