Contrary to what most Malaysians think, the Hitz.fm Malaysian Top 10 does not encompass all that is exciting on the local music front. Sure, it provides curious listeners with a sample of what Malaysian acts are doing from a mainstream angle but scratch the surface and there lays an exhilarating movement brewing in the fringe gig circuit.  

Last Saturday, at the third edition of the gig series Longdrawn held at Paul’s Place in Jalan Klang Lama in Kuala Lumpur, the essence of quality independent music came to the forefront, offering a glimpse of what happens when eclectic musicianship merges with quality gig organisation.
