IT WAS 3.25pm and the Butterfingers seemed at odds on whether to head out to the stage or wait to start their first public appearance as a complete band at last Saturday’s show at Hard Rock Cafe in Kuala Lumpur. Excitement as well as nicotine was thick in the air backstage and interestingly enough, the behind-the-scenes atmosphere told the story as the Butterfingers – frontman Emmett, guitarist Loque, bassist Kadak and drummer Loko – looked nervy, anxious but no less focused about making this “reunion” gig of sorts memorable.
So focused were the band that they appeared for the sound checks as early as 9am – there wasn’t going to be any hiccups on Saturday. And it looked like the Butterfingers lads, outfitted in their laundry day clothing best, were raring to play the entire day if they could.
