New generation of filmmakers wins renown for Argentina

In the Argentine film Live-In Maid, an upper middle-class woman hit by unexpected poverty tries to hold onto her elegant apartment. She pawns jewelry and dishware and sells skin cream door to door, but can't ward off the inevitable.

She knows the end has arrived when her longtime live-in maid quits after going months without a paycheque. "I don't understand how you could do this to me when I most need you," the woman, played by veteran actress Norma Aleandro, says.
