It’s Oscar time yet again. The night of pomp and pageantry and the one evening that sees the likes of Tom, Nicole, Julia and Mel come together to acknowledge the finest in film. As usual, the debate rages on this year. Is it going to be Annette Bening or Hilary Swank? Will Leonardo DiCaprio finally be acknowledged after being snubbed for his role in Titanic?
These may be the more “sensationalist” debates now. But once the fever dies down, the recipients of many of these categories are likely to be forgotten. After all, how many times can you watch Titanic or Braveheart? There is one category, however, that has produced numerous classics, ones that continue to be favourites and are played over and over again.
