Jordanian artist Anees Mani explores state of evolution with wood sculptures

With his Kuala Lumpur exhibition, Jordanian artist Aneese Mani is carving out a strong niche in the wood sculpting scene.

Growing up in the desert lands of Jordan, where forests made up only 1% of the landscape, sculptor Anees Mani was never really accustomed to working with wood. With trees being in short supply in his homeland, the Jordanian sculptor would shape his works from clay and stone, among other materials.
