APART from expanding its property business, UEM Sunrise Bhd is all about creative placemaking – a multi-faceted approach to the planning, design and management of public spaces – and bringing the community together at the heart of its developments.
Together with Khazanah Nasional Bhd and Iskandar Investment Bhd, UEM Sunrise will be holding its community carnival event, Iskarnival, for the sixth year at Iskandar Puteri, Johor Baru.
The festival consists of two components – Iskarnival Kool and Iskarnival Aktif – which will be held over two consecutive weekends on Nov 25 and 26, and Dec 2 and 3, respectively.
The carnival, which will be held at Puteri Harbour (Iskarnival Kool) and EduCity Sports Complex (Iskarnival Aktif), aims to highlight the many opportunities available in the creative economy and showcase talents developed since the inception of Iskandar Malaysia 10 years ago.
At the event, visitors can expect to see local communities, creative talents and sport enthusiasts gather to celebrate the excitement and spirit of the township.
There will be many fun and exciting activities spread across 15 venues in the vicinity such as creative workshops, sports and recreational activities, bazaars, exhibitions, talks, performing arts and other special events.
Visitors will also get the chance to see gigs by famous singer-songwriters, performers and bands such as Yuna, Sheila Majid, Bil Nusa, Fiza Saad, Plague of Happiness, Classmates, Asia Beat, Steve Thornton and Meruked. Admission is free.
UEM Sunrise Bhd managing director and chief executive officer Anwar Syahrin Abdul Ajib said the event was part of the company’s latest marketing campaign, “Discover the Place Where You Belong”, to showcase the life and excitement of the township.
“Customer satisfaction is our utmost priority. Not only do we want to create valuable and quality products for our customers, we also want to bring people of all walks of life together and build a sustainable community.
“Through events like this, we hope to enhance our level of services and customise them to fulfil the needs of housebuyers,” he said, adding that more than 100,000 visitors are expected at the carnival.
The marketing campaign is also part of UEM Sunrise’s mission to create sustainable living and raise the profile of its developments.
UEM Sunrise is also having its Signature Selection 3: Road to Russia 2018 campaign in which housebuyers of selected developments can stand a chance to win attractive prizes worth a total of RM1.1mil.
Five lucky couples will win a four-night all expenses paid trip to catch the opening ceremony of the Fifa World Cup while three couples will win a six-night complimentary trip to watch the finals in Moscow, Russia. The contest ends Nov 30.
Anwar said although the property market was soft, sentiment was picking up.
“Housebuyers are seeing this as an opportunity for investment and to own their own property.
“To help customers with funding, we have also implemented financing schemes and incentives for selected developments to help them secure a home,” he said.
This year, Anwar said, the company launched RM1.9bil worth of products and achieved a total of RM1bil worth of sales. They hope to hit RM1.2bil by the end of the year.
“Moving forward, we hope to expand our land bank, launch more products as well as look at ways we can better interact and engage with housebuyers,” he added.
