Technology startups, which mainly comprise innovative businesses in the fields of information and communications technology, green technology, biotechnology, electrical and electronic engineeringamong others, are in need of a constant flow of funds to help achieve their goals.
According to Dr Sivapalan Vivekarajah, director of the Technopreneurs Association of Malaysia’s (TeAM) Policy Institute, there are about only nine venture capital companies or funds that are still actively investing in Malaysian technology startups at present.
