THE International Invention, Innovation & Technology Exhibition (ITEX) 2014 is taking place at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre today.
Held for the 25th year, Asia’s leading invention exhibition will showcase close to 1,000 inventions, innovations and technologies by key local and international players from various sectors, congregating experts from the field of research and development, manufacturing, financing and legal.
Malaysia is represented by participants from the local IPTA/IPTS, research and education institutions, corporates, individuals as well as patent and intellectual property firms.
The Malaysian Young Inventors Exhibition (MYIE) 2014 and Asian Young Inventors Exhibition (AYIE) 2014 are also both being held on a bigger scale this year under the umbrella of ITEX.
The MYIE and AYIE exhibitions provide a platform for young inventors aged 20 and below to showcase their innovations, allowing these youths to meet like-minded young inventors and their mentors from around the world at ITEX.
MYIE 2014 will feature up to 10 top winners from the national-level Malaysia Young Inventors Competition to compete in AYIE 2014 where inventions will be showcased to an international audience.
MYIE 2014 will be featuring 75 inventions, which marks a significant increase from last year. AYIE 2014 will also be featuring close to 100 inventions from Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Vietnam, China, Philippines, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
Organised by the Malaysian Invention and Design Society and managed by CIS Network Sdn Bhd, ITEX 2014 is all set to achieve its primary objective of promoting initiatives and opportunities for an inventor, leading up to successful commercialisation.
The objective is in line the Ministry of Science Technology and Innovation’s declaration of 2014 as the Year of Commercialisation.
