TIMBERLAND and Swiss Military Hanowa watches are distinctive in their styles and target a fairly different audience.

Timberland’s new range offers up a feel of rugged sophistication for outdoor junkies while Swiss Military Hanowa opts for more traditional features.

AD time Sdn Bhd, the newly appointed Malaysian distributor for both brands, launched the latest Swiss Military Hanowa and Timberland watches. The timepieces will be available in all Solar Time and Time Couture boutiques.

Rajiv Mehra, regional sales and marketing director for Fortune Concept Ltd, the company that distributes the brands in Asia, said Timberland is steering in the direction of more casual designs for its timepieces.

“We put much emphasis on the outdoor lifestyle.

“Its durable fabric and supple leather straps are built specifically for outdoor adventure.

“The embossed Timberland logo on beige tan leather strap highlights delicate craftsmanship and construction,” he said.

Measuring 46mm in diameter and with an ion-plated gun-metal top ring and crown, the Timberland Campton features a simple design that has water resistance up to 100m.

Its beige coloured hands and markers complement the black dial, bringing a sleek finish that will appeal to city dwellers and is rugged enough for outdoor junkies.

Another Timberland offering that stands out is the HT3 chronograph that show different time zones.

It combines analogue chronograph and digital LCD displays in its 56mm gunmetal ion-plated case.

Its white markers and Timberland logo match the black dial while the robust orange rubber strap brings a splash of vibrant contrast to the watch.

Water resistant up to 500m, the HT3 is also available in a stainless steel case and a black silicone strap.

Timberland showcased a wide range of other designs such as the Timberland Warren as well as the Timberland Northfield.

While Timberland shines with its outdoor theme, the new Swiss Military Hanova watches will appeal to those who like timepieces in classic styles.

Celebrating its 50th anniversary last year, Swiss Military Hanova has been upholding a long tradition in the philosophy of sports watches.

Swiss Military Hanowa’s Flagship Chrono IP Black chronograph looks casually sporty and classic and can be worn for all kinds of occasions.

The IP Black comes in matt black with dark dial, emphasising the dynamic character of the timepiece.

Its 42mm stainless steel case with stainless steel watchstrap featuring a black ion coating protects it from scratches.

Several versions are available including with all-black bezels, partially luminous indices and hands.

Swiss Military Hanowa’s Aqualiner model features bezels with different colour schemes ranging from elegant black to two-tone black as well as an array of colour options from deep red to blue and yellow to suit a wide range of tastes.

The stainless steel casings are water resistant to 100m and contain a Swiss precision quartz movement.

Sapphire glass is scratch- resistant. Black and silver dial options round off the design.

With either a stainless steel bracelet or a black polyurethane strap, the timepiece offers up a sporty but formal look with clean and crisp stainless steel.

The Swiss Military Hanova watches start from RM850. Prices for the new Timberland timepieces start from RM500.
