SALTYCUSTOMS, the company that redefined the customised T-shirt industry, recently launched its Apparel Consultancy service.
The media, VIPs, clients and guests were invited to SaltyCustoms’ newly-expanded office, named The Academy, in Kelana Square, to witness the launch of what was deemed to be a first-of-its-kind service in Malaysia.
SaltyCustoms co-founder and creative director Shannon Toh said the service was provided by SaltyCustoms’ team of young, energetic and passionate Apparel Consultants.
An Apparel Consultant is defined by SaltyCustoms as a professional who represents the company and all of its values by abiding to a code of conduct. They are also required to possess a fine balance of soft skills, creativity, consulting skills as well as remarkable spirit of entrepreneurship.
“All our consultants are trained using an in-house methodology that was developed through years of trial and error as well as the invaluable experience gained while plying our trade in the T-shirt industry.
“They are professionally-trained, and, therefore, are experts when it comes to understanding our clients’ needs and objectives. With this, we can accurately deliver what our clients want in the shortest time possible, saving our clients both precious time and money,” he said.
The company believes that due to the ceaseless advancement of technology and with the market growing more and more sophisticated each day, corporations which are looking to create their own apparel were becoming victims of information overload.
The company also believes that too much time is wasted comparing the wide spectrum of fabrics, styles, fits and printing methods that are available in the fast-growing market, and this is when the Apparel Consultants come in to solve the conundrum.
Hence, if you are planning an event or tasked with coming up with a new company T-shirt, the apparel consultants are the people to go to.
SaltyCustoms co-founder and managing director Quah Nian King added, “Our Apparel Consultants are not just any sales people. They are apparel partners and experts to our clients’ merchandising arms, and they are the masterminds who help maximise our clients’ revenue and return of investment.”
After the launch, the company threw a SaltyCustoms Experience Party where guests enjoyed a buffet and free flow of drinks as well as perforamnces by local band, Paperplane Pursuit, and artiste Darren Ashley.
Other highlights of the evening included a lucky draw which saw a winner walking away with customised T-shirts for his corporation and a DIY Screen Printing booth for the guests to create their own printed T-shirts as memorabilia.
SaltyCustoms also showcased their glow-in-the-dark T-shirts that feature a different design in the dark.
SaltyCustoms was founded in 2010 by Toh and Quah through a common passion for well-fitted, high quality T-shirts. The company believes in doing more than just offering T-shirts, they also believe in providing a holistic T-shirt customising experience that revolutionised the industry.
Since its inception in 2010, the company has grown from a two-man partnership working from a study room to a full-fledged T-shirt company with 11 employees with its own office, the Academy.
To date, SaltyCustoms has sold more than 250,000 T-shirts, with clients such as AirAsia , Groupon, Heineken, Universal Music Malaysia, Monsoon Cup, Chatime, Barbie Live, Topman, GAP, Zalora and Astro Supersport.
SaltyCustoms’ products include T-shirts (short sleeve, long sleeve, raglan, pocket and ringer), polo shirts, microfibre jerseys and hoodies.
