Trading ideas: Bumi Armada, HL Cap, Sanichi, BHIC, Favelle Favco

KUALA LUMPUR: Bumi Armada, Hong Leong Capital, Sanichi Technology, Boustead Heavy Industries Corp  (BHIC)  and Favelle Favco could see trading interest on Thursday after the fresh corporate news.

T. Ananda Krishnan’s Objektif Bersatu Sdn Bhd placed out 215 million shares or a 7.33% equity interest in Bumi Armada Bhd on Aug 27.

Hong Leong Capital was given another three months until Nov 30 to comply with the 25% public shareholding spread.

Pelaburan Mara Bhd raised its stake in ACE Market listed Sanichi with the recent purchase of 53 million shares.

Meanwhile JF Apex Research said BHIC’s joint venture has finalised the negotiations with the Malaysian government to provide in-service support for two submarines for the navy, with a total value of RM1.31bil.

As for Favelle Favco, it secured three purchase orders for heavy machinery equipment worth RM120mil.

Overnight on Wall Street, US stocks closed mixed, coming off morning highs amid economic reports and central bank news. European shares ended the day firmly in the green, amid hopes that Ukraine and Russia were nearing a cease-fire agreement.

JF Apex Research said at Bursa Malaysia, the FBM KLCI fell 2.82 points to close at 1,64.87.

“Trading in Asia is expected to be cautious as investors await central bank decisions in Japan and Europe. We expect the KLCI to remain sideways above its support of 1,860,” it said.
