CONSIDERING that government revenue is not growing fast enough to match rising operating expenses, spending RM50mil on National Service (NS) next year may not be a good idea, even if its aim is to instil national pride in Malaysian youth.
Although costs will be reduced by using existing military or police installations, history shows there has not been any tangible outcome despite the high cost.
