Lagenda unit seeks to raise up to RM1.5bil via Sukuk Wakalah programme

PETALING JAYA: Lagenda Properties Bhd's wholly-owned subsidiary, Lagenda Capital Bhd, aims to raise upto RM1.5bil via a Sukuk Wakalah Programme that has been lodged with the Securities Commission Malaysia.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Lagenda noted the sukuk was structured under the Shariah principle of Wakalah Bi Al-Istithmar.

The programme will provide flexibility for periodic issuances of Islamic medium-term notes with a perpetual tenure.

Each issuance will carry a minimum one-year maturity, with profit rates either fixed or floating, and may be secured or unsecured.

Proceeds will be channelled into Shariah-compliant purposes including financing affordable housing projects, acquisitions, capital expenditure, working capital, refinancing borrowings, and redemption of Sukuk.

Advisers include Alliance Islamic Bank Bhd and AmInvestment Bank Bhd as joint arrangers and managers, with AmInvestment also acting as facility agent. Alliance Islamic Bank and AmBank Islamic Bhd serve as Shariah advisers. This initiative strengthens Lagenda’s funding capacity while supporting its mission to deliver affordable housing through Shariah-compliant financing.
