Sorento Capital gets SC nod for Main Market listing


KUALA LUMPUR: Sorento Capital Bhd has obtained approval from the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) to transfer from the ACE Market to the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Bhd.

In a Bursa Malaysia filing, the investment holding company said that SC, via a letter dated July 16, 2026, approved the proposed transfer under Section 214(1) of the Capital Markets and Services Act 2007.

Sorento Capital said as of the latest practicable date (LPD) of July 13, 2026, its issued share capital is RM97.77 million comprising 860 million ordinary shares.

"Based on the Record of Depositors of Sorento Capital as at July 17, 2026, the company’s public shareholding spread stood at approximately 26.12 per cent of its total issued share capital," it said.

The company, which has been listed on the ACE Market since Oct 28, 2024, had a market capitalisation of approximately RM561.15 million as at July 13, 2026, based on a five-day volume-weighted average share price of 65.25 sen.

For the financial year ended June 30, 2025 (FY2025), Sorento Capital posted higher revenue of RM179.17 million, from RM151.55 million in FY2024, while net profit rose to RM26.24 million from RM24.43 million previously. 

For the nine-month financial period ended March 31, 2026, its net profit increased by RM22.48 million from RM18.34 million in the same period last year despite revenue easing marginally to RM134.71 million from RM135.88 million previously. - Bernama
