Malton eyes electric motorcycle ops

KUALA LUMPUR: Malton Bhd has signed a memorandum of understanding with China-based Dongguan Benling Vehicle Technology Co Ltd (BENLG) to explore setting up a local assembly plant and distribution system for electric motorcycles in Malaysia.

The property developer said the collaboration marks the company’s expansion into the green mobility space to capitalise on the rapid shift in Malaysia’s urban transportation landscape.

“Through this collaboration, BENLG is seeking to establish an assembly hub in Malaysia as a gateway to the wider Asean electric two-wheeler market.

“Malton, in turn, is exploring this venture as part of its ongoing diversification strategy into future-ready industries,” said the firm in a statement. —Bernama
