Invictus Blue confirms exit of two senior leaders following organisational reset


KUALA LUMPUR: Independent media-tech-creative group Invictus Blue has confirmed the exit of two senior leaders following a comprehensive organisational reset undertaken in 2025 to modernise its operating model, governance and ways of working to support its next phase of growth.

In a statement, the group said the exits were part of a restructuring exercise aimed at streamlining workflows, improving accountability and strengthening execution across the organisation.

The senior exits are its group finance director Vinesh Thanabalasingam, and personnel and operations head Sharon Gomes. The departures followed a full review of the group’s operational processes and leadership structure, which was completed in the final quarter of 2025, according to the statement.

Invictus Blue said the reset was driven by changes in the media and communications industry, including the growing influence of artificial intelligence (AI), automation and real-time decision-making.

“The industry is moving faster than ever,” said its president Keith Miranda, who initiated the group’s transformation agenda.

“To stay relevant, we needed to rethink how decisions are made, how teams collaborate and how accountability is structured. This reset was about future-proofing the organisation—not preserving old ways of working.”

The statement added that the exit of the senior leadership followed the operational reset, as the organisation aligned its leadership structure with new governance standards, execution models and performance frameworks.

The reset also led to the appointment of the group’s chief executive officer Jo Yau in May 2024, with a mandate to lead the organisation’s transformation agenda.

Since her appointment, the group said it has restructured its leadership cadence, financial oversight and delivery model. These changes culminated in Invictus Blue being named Growth Agency of the Year at the Media Specialist Awards 2025, in addition to winning Gold Awards for Best Use of Artificial Intelligence in 2024 and 2025.

Yau was also appointed to the board of directors of key companies within the Invictus group to strengthen governance oversight, strategic alignment and continuity between leadership and execution.

“Transformation is ultimately about how work gets done. We focused on building clearer processes, stronger governance and faster execution so the organisation can scale with confidence and control,” said Yau.

The statement added that the organisational reset replaced fragmented and centralised workflows with a leaner and more transparent operating model designed to improve speed, clarity and accountability.

“This was about building a system that works for the future,” Yau said, adding that the focus was on processes and execution rather than personalities or tenure.

As a result of the transformation, Invictus Blue’s evolution now extends beyond media services. The group has invested in building an integrated growth ecosystem that brings together media, creative, social, communications, experiential and technology capabilities under a single operating model.

With its foundations reinforced, Invictus Blue said it is now focused on priorities including AI-enabled planning and analytics, agile operating models, and continued investment in local talent and leadership development.

These priorities are guided by four principles: nurturing local talent, agile by design, technology proven by outcomes, and partnership beyond planning.
