Hume Cement appoints Tan as group MD

KUALA LUMPUR: Hume Cement Industries Bhd has appointed William Tan Kok Siang as its group managing director effective Jan 1, 2026.

The cement manufacturer said Tan, 38, has been managing director of its wholly owned subsidiary Hume Cement Sdn Bhd (HCMT) since Oct 1, 2023.

He joined HCMT in 2012 and progressively took on expanded leadership roles across marketing, sales, logistics, export and plant operations, Hume Cement said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia.

“His track record includes driving sales growth, strengthening customer relationships, and improving operational efficiency. In 2019, he was appointed sales and logistics general manager and subsequently entrusted with wider responsibilities,” the company said.

Hume Cement has not had a group managing director since September 2023 following the resignation of Hugo Enrique Losada Barriola, who stepped down for personal reasons. — Bernama
