Gadang in Sabah Electricity deal

PETALING JAYA: Gadang Holdings Bhd’s 60%-owned subsidiary, Tenaga Aspirasi Sdn Bhd, has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) for a large scale solar with Sabah Electricity.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the civil engineering firm said Tenaga Aspirasi will design, construct, test, commission, own, operate and maintain the solar photovoltaic energy generating facility with the capacity of 15MWac located in Tawau, Sabah.

It said the facility is for connection to Sabah Electricity’s medium-voltage distribution network at Pencawang Pembahagian Utama Kubota to generate and deliver solar photovoltaic energy to Sabah Electricity.

“The PPA governs the obligations of Tenaga Aspirasi and Sabah Electricity to sell and purchase the energy generated by the facility for a period of 25 years from the commercial operation date, which is expected on Nov 30, 2026,” said Gadang.
