Texchem affected by weaker sales

PETALING JAYA: Texchem Resources Bhd expects its polymer engineering business to benefit from the continued growth in the semiconductor/artificial intelligence supply chain and medical/life sciences industries.

In a filing on Bursa Malaysia yesterday, the company said, quoting a Finance Ministry report on Oct 10, the manufacturing sector is expected to expand by 3.8% and services sector will grow 5.1% in second half of financial year 2025.

In the third quarter ended Sept 30, 2025, Texchem posted a higher net profit of RM1.93mil versus RM1.11mil a year ago.

Its showing was dragged by weaker sales from its industrial, polymer engineering and food divisions.

For the nine-month period just ended, its net profit surged to RM4.08mil from RM749,000 a year ago while revenue declined to RM842.42mil from RM851.19mil.
