SP Setia lodges RM3.5bil Islamic notes, RM500mil ICP programmes with SC

KUALA LUMPUR: SP Setia Bhd has lodged an Islamic notes issuance programme of up to RM3.5 billion and an Islamic commercial papers (ICP) programme of up to RM500 million with the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) under the lodge and launch framework.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the property developer said the Islamic notes issuance (sukuk wakalah programme) comprises the issuance of senior Islamic medium-term notes (senior sukuk wakalah) and/or subordinated perpetual Islamic notes (perpetual sukuk wakalah).

It said the ICP programme has a tenure of seven years, with the first issuance to be made within 90 business days from the lodgement date.

It said each ICP issuance will carry a tenure of at least one month and up to 12 months.

"The proceeds from the sukuk wakalah to be issued under the sukuk wakalah programme other than the sustainability sukuk wakalah shall be utilised for Shariah-compliant purposes,” it said.

HSBC Amanah Malaysia Bhd and Maybank Investment Bank Bhd are the joint principal advisers and joint sustainability structuring coordinators for the sukuk programmes, while CIMB Investment Bank Bhd, HSBC Amanah and Maybank IB serve as the joint lead arrangers. - Bernama
