3Q25 GDP surprise on the upside

PETALING JAYA: The country’s stronger-than-expected advanced gross domestic product (GDP) growth for the third quarter of 2025 (3Q25), released last Friday, should be treated with caution as external uncertainties continue to weigh on the growth outlook.

Malaysia’s advanced 3Q25 GDP showed the economy expanded 5.2% year-on-year, compared to 4.4% growth in 2Q25.
