Perak Transit obtains GTFs certification for Euro 5 green city buses

KUALA LUMPUR: A subsidiary of Perak Transit Bhd has obtained the Green Project Certificate under the Green Technology Financing Scheme (GTFS) administered by the Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation.

In a Bursa Malaysia filing, Perak Transit said the certificate is for the group’s initiative to procure 30 King Long City Buses (Euro 5) worth RM17.1 million.

It said the procurement has fulfilled all GTFS eligibility criteria for the Energy Efficient Vehicle type in the transportation sector and user category.

Perak Transit executive director Datuk Cheong Peak Sooi said obtaining GTFS certification for Euro 5 green city buses underscored its commitment to sustainable and energy-efficient transport solutions.

"This recognition validates our strategic direction to modernise our fleet responsibly, enhance operational efficiency and align our growth with Malaysia’s green development goals,” he said. - Bernama
