KUALA LUMPUR: Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd has successfully completed the issuance of its seventh and largest tranche of the sustainable and responsible investment (SRI) Sukuk  Kelestarian Air Selangor, valued at RM1.5 billion.

In a statement today, the company said the issuance comprises five series with maturities ranging from seven to 25 years and marks the eighth issuance under its Sukuk Murabahah Programme, which was upsized to RM 20.0 billion to support long-term infrastructure and sustainability objectives.

Air Selangor chief executive officer Adam Saffian Ghazali said the strong oversubscription of the company’s previous SRI sukuk reflects investors’ confidence in its financial resilience and shared commitment to sustainable progress.

The issuance received strong investor demand, achieving an oversubscription of 2.51 times with a total order book of RM3.77 billion, further reinforcing Air Selangor’s position in the sustainable sukuk market.

"The Sukuk Murabahah Programme has been reaffirmed with a AAA long-term rating and stable outlook by RAM Rating Services Bhd as of Aug 28, 2025, further validating the programme’s strong credit fundamentals,” he added.

Air Selangor said proceeds from the SRI sukuk would be allocated to eligible projects aligned with the company’s priority Sustainable Development Goals and its Sustainable Development Sukuk Kelestarian Framework.

These projects include initiatives focused on sustainable water supply and water resource management, such as the Rasau Water Supply Scheme and pipe replacement programmes, reinforcing Air Selangor’s commitment to ensuring long-term water security for future generations, it added. - Bernama
