KUALA LUMPUR: Port operator Westports Holdings Bhd
is expected to report higher container volumes for the second quarter of this year (2Q25), compared with 0.6% recorded in 1Q25, due to the start of the Gemini Cooperation shipping alliance on Feb 1, analysts say.
CGS International Research (CGSI Research) said the volume growth resulted in a one-off boost to Westports’ trans-shipment volume in the first three months of this year, as shipping line Hapag-Lloyd reshuffled its containers when it joined Gemini and added to Westports’ trans-shipment volumes.
