Low impact on  CAB Cakaran from cyberattack

PETALING JAYA: CAB Cakaran Corp Bhd has revealed that the recent cyber attack on its 51%-owned subsidiary, Farm’s Best Food Industries Sdn Bhd, has not resulted in any material impact on the latter’s operations or financial performance.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the food products supplier said an assessment of the incident had been completed.

“The board of directors wishes to provide an update that, while restoration efforts for the affected accounting system are still ongoing, the timeline for full data recovery in time to meet reporting deadline remains uncertain,” it said.

CAB Cakaran added that poultry farmer and processor Farm’s Best continues to work closely with internal information technology personnel and external cybersecurity consultants to fully recover the affected systems and strengthen its cybersecurity framework to prevent recurrence.

The company announced that Farm’s Best was the target of a cyberattack on June 3, 2025, which resulted in a data breach.
